Facebook apologizes for banning evangelist Franklin Graham
This past December Facebook banned North Carolina Evangelist Franklin Graham from its social media platform over a post that was made in 2016 regarding the state’s “bathroom bill.”
Graham had stated that Facebook had banned him for a day in December, saying the post violated their community hate speech standards. Graham said the post focused on the now-repealed House Bill 2, which required transgender people to only use restrooms matching the gender on their birth certificates.
Graham told the press that his post was about Bruce Springsteen canceling a concert over the bill and “backward progress”. Graham stated that in the post “a nation embracing sin and bowing at the feet of godless secularism and political correctness is not progress.”
Facebook had apologized to Graham since then, and had restored his account.
